Brion

Evidence of long occupation has been proved by Neolithic finds, ceramic fragments and more recently discoveries of Gallo Roman villas, large farms and Roman iron workings.
During Carolingian time the curate of Brion controlled part of Gencéen. A large number of sarcophagi were discovered during the 19th century during work carried out in Saint Martin’s church and the medieval cemetery.
Bussière has one of the most beautiful pigeonniers in the south Vienne, built around 1600 and having 500 boxes.
The village benefits today from the river Clouère and its protected wet zone.
